Tim, some NYS communities have now legislated that unspoken rule about clearing the sidewalk in front of their homes.
I remember the days when I would clear out sidewalk and then clear several elderly neighbors sidewalks when I was growing up were we had sidewalks.

Hi Nancy - That is very true. Some of the smaller cities here in the Capital Region of New York have that law. Unfortunately it's not always followed, and I would expect it's even harder to enforce. There's probably even more symbolism in that!
