I love what you're doing. I'm immediately thinking of a story I can set in a library for the seed pod!

Yes! Libraries are such a great setting. They can be spooky, mystical, nostalgic, joyful... often all at the same time!

And free so everyone can access........palace of joy....and three dimensional in your hands...bliss

Ooo, this all sounds great! Love the idea of featured posts working as “staff picks” especially. To have a surprise email by you guys telling us we’d been chosen to be highlighted would be so fun!

It's so much fun for us, too!

Count me in on the libraries seed pod. My true religion. 😉🌻

Expand full comment

Yesssss.... enter the pod. We have badges. And blurbs!

Expand full comment

I’m subscribed. And I’m a small stack. How do I enter the pod?

Expand full comment

Just watch for the thread to open on Sept 2. That will be Seed Pod HQ. We'll include the badge (a small image) and a short blurb that you can add to your post about libraries. Then once your post is published, share it on the thread, and find a few other posts about libraries to share and promote, too.

Ongoing 9/2-22?

Expand full comment

Yep, the thread will stay open the entire time.

I would love a seed pod about travel writing!

You can start one! In early October-ish, we'll be releasing a downloadable guide to starting and launching your own Seed Pod (including using our library to find like-minded small stacks to partner with).

Seed pods sounds like a great way to get to know other small stacks better!

This is exciting! Now I can finally write about murders in a library!

Expand full comment

Yes! I would LOVE to read a murder mystery that’s set in a library.

Love all of this! I’m excited for when there’s hopefully a chronic illness or disability seed pod… as I think there’s a strong community there who would absolutely get involved!

Looking forward to your chat on Inspiration this week and the big launch!

I would love to do a disability and/or chronic illness pod! When the guide is available in Oct., would you like to collaborate on this?

Expand full comment

I think there may be one already in the works… but I’m sure we can also have multiples! Let’s connect in October - I’m so happy seeing so many people eager to collaborate and help each other get their messages out!

Great ideas. This is the best of Substack. Innovations and Experimentations. Utilizing this space a true sand box to explore new ideas, ways of storytelling, and building community.

Thanks, Vince! This kind of sandbox play is so much fun!

I have a friend who is a librarian, but alas, not an entire post worth of data. 🤭

Expand full comment

I don't know, there's a whole memorable number about a librarian in a famous musical. Sometimes you just need a great rhyme!

Expand full comment

Perhaps this friend would like to be interviewed about what it's like to actually be a librarian? Inquiring minds want to know! (Mine. My inquiring mind wants to know.)

Thank y'all for all of your hard work! So much energy, creativity, and generosity with your talents and time. So grateful for all you do and excited to see how Smallstack continues to make waves (small waves included)!

Lovely idea. Thank you. I write my memoir for Substack in the collective concentrated calm of The British Library, London.
