Guest Posts are now a biweekly feature starting in July, 2024, which means they land every other Wednesday on the app and in your inbox. Our inaugural guest post by

was heartfelt and inspiring. Another new guest post is primed for this Wednesday, June 26, this time brought to us by !

Guest Posts are an opportunity for anyone in the SmallStack community, regardless of subscriber numbers, to take the microphone and speak directly to all of us. While there is no restriction on who can write a Guest Post beyond being a subscriber to SmallStack, these posts must provide content that the community finds value in. Topics can range from the reasons we start writing to how we connect with our readers, and there is no limit to the format they can take. We want to see your art, photography, poetry, prose, interviews, podcasts, and creative approaches to what makes “small” great. Got an idea? Why not pitch us?!

Guest Posts are not the same as Featured Posts. Let’s look at the differences:

Featured Posts are ones we select from your existing publication by the SmallStack Team to be promoted here for others to enjoy. Featured Posts span a range of topics including fiction, travelogues, book reviews, poetry, sports analysis, parenting, comics, and more! If you posted it to your substack, it’s eligible for consideration as a Featured Post. This is a chance to shine a spotlight on the posts that demonstrate who YOU are.

Guest Posts are written specifically for the entire SmallStack community. When you pitch an idea to us that we select, you get to take center stage in the conversations here that matter most. Guest Posts might be about how you value the connection you have with a small audience, why you think growth is important, or the rewards of being a creator here on substack.

Submit your Pitch!

If you have a guest post you’d like to pitch, please submit it to us at smallstacklibrary@gmail.com. Please include “guest post pitch” in the subject line of your email.

Pitches must include:

Your name (this can be your substack handle like @Robin Taylor)

Your substack (smallstack.substack.com)

A brief description of the guest post you would like to write for us (200 words max). Please do not include a fully written post. Please do not link to existing posts on your stack. Guest Posts should be original work that you create for this community specifically.

If selected, you will be contacted at the email address you used to send us your pitch. Please note that not all pitches submitted will be selected for Guest Posts. Guest Posts will be scheduled for publishing here on SmallStack once they are complete. All Guest Posts submitted are subject to editing by the SmallStack Team. Guest Post authors will be listed in the byline of their post.

Curious about bylines? See more from substack on how this works.
