To be selected you must be listed in the Library, and you can't have more than 500 subscribers. Featured Posts will feel like a curated collection of "staff favorites" that we find.

I'm new to this platform but have a story to tell. My life dramatically changed in 2019 when my husband of 30 years was diagnosed with military related ALS, from Agent Orange in Vietnam. What a shock it was to both of us. I had to quit my elementary teaching job to be his 24/7 caretaker. I had to watch him slowly lose the use of his arms and ability to walk. He was finally freed from his suffering on February 3 of this year. Now, I'm totally working through my own identity and writing allows me the space for processing my thoughts, emotions, and what direction my life should take. I share a home in a rural area, with 2 cats and a dog who is now 15 years old and I care for 5 chickens, as well. I'm holding on for dear life right now and I'm glad I found this platform. Thanks for listening.
